Sexual Concerns

Dr. Elizabeth Bird provides nonjudgmental and candid sex therapy for individuals and couples. She holds space for each person’s identities, histories, and context. Sex is personal but you are not alone.

Common concerns include sexual desire, sexual function (arousal, orgasm), healing after trauma, navigating sexual differences in relationships, exploring kink/BDSM, and changes in your sex life (e.g., after kids, with illness, with aging).

We consider all of the factors that might be part of your experience including psychological (e.g., anxiety, trauma), social (e.g., cultural messages, relationship dynamics), and biological (e.g., hormones, illness). We will make referrals to medical professionals as needed.

If you come to therapy as an individual but are in a relationship, Dr. Bird will talk with you about the pros and cons of doing therapy as an individual versus as a couple depending on your goals and situation.
